Wolves Twinsbet center Garrison Brooks is officially out for the season. The American import was unable to finish Game 1 of the Wolves’ Betsafe-LKL quarterfinals series against BC Neptūnas and was later diagnosed with a painful injury – a fractured sacrum. This injury will keep him out of the Vilnius-based club’s postseason matches.
Recovery from this pelvic bone injury typically takes about two months, so Brooks will be unable to help the Lithuanian capital team in their upcoming playoff games.
After a strong start in Game 1, Brooks suffered the injury in the first half during a shot attempt. He fell flat on his back after colliding with Neptūnas’ Martynas Pacevičius, who was attempting to block him.
Despite playing through the pain and returning to the floor, Brooks’ movements were severely hindered by the soreness. He managed to score another basket but did not return to action after the halftime break.
He still finished as the game’s MVP with 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 21 EFF in 12.5 minutes.
This season, Brooks played 19 games in the Betsafe-LKL, averaging 8.11 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 8.9 EFF per game.
In the BKT EuroCup tournament, he played 9 games, averaging 7.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 8 EFF per game.
