BC Wolves Twinsbet have announced that they have signed 31-year-old American import Andrew Andrews for the next season. The 6’2″ combo guard able to play both backcourt positions agreed to a one-year contract with the Vilnius-based club.
A. Andrews played for Badalona’s Joventut club last season, where he competed in the Spanish Basketball League (Liga ACB) and the European Cup. During his BKT-EuroCup stint, he registered 14.6 points (36.8% three-pointers), 2 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and 14.7 utility points per game.
Playing in the Spanish league, he averaged 10.7 points (29 percent from three-point distance), 2.7 assists, 1.8 rebounds, and 7.8 EFF.
“We wanted to invite a basketball player who could initiate the offense by himself and can make baskets both from long distance and by driving to the hoop. Andrew has a lot of experience, having played in several national championships and the European Cup. During his professional career, he has already proven that he can lead teams to victory, so we believe that this newcomer will strengthen our team and help compile wins for our squad”, said the club’s sports director Donatas Zavackas.
Before spending the previous season in Spain, A. Andrews played briefly for Athens’ “Panathinaikos” club, where he managed to appear in four Euroleague matches. In those games, he averaged 8.3 points (62.5% treys), 1.5 assists, 1.5 rebounds, and 7.8 utility points.
In the same season, he moved to Turkey where he wore the colors of Bursa’s “Frutti Extra” team during the 2021-2022 campaign.
In addition to A. Andews, Wolves Twinsbet have Jeffery Taylor, Vaidas Kariniauskas, Kristupas Žemaitis, Regimantas Miniotas, Matas Jogėla, Anthony Cowan, Marek Blaževic, Daniel Baslyk, and Tre’Shawn Thurman playing in the Lithuanian capital’s ranks for the next season.
Wolves Twinsbet will start the upcoming European Cup season on September 25 at the Twinsbet Arena in Vilnius where they will host Istanbul’s “Bahçeşehir” club.
