Wolves Twinsbet adds D. Baslyk to club roster

Wolves Twinsbet have announced that they have added Vilnius native Daniel Baslyk to the club roster after he signed a two-year contract with the club. The 6’6″ forward previously spent four years with BC Šiauliai.

In the previous Betsafe-LKL season, the 23-year-old wingman and former captain of the Šiauliai team averaged 7.5 points and 2.6 rebounds in 18.3 minutes spent on the court. He also recorded the most free throw attempts for the said club.

While playing in the European North Basketball League (ENBL), he scored 7.4 points, grabbed 2.8 rebounds and dished out 1.1 assists per outing.

“A young and still-developing basketball player joined our club. Daniel has offensive versatility, works on defense, and is willing to sacrifice for the team. While playing in Šiauliai, he was renowned for his competitiveness. We hope that he will show the same intensity when he wears our club’s jersey,” said Donatas Zavackas, sports director of Wolves Twinsbet.

Born and raised in Vilnius, Baslyk started his professional career when he was just 18 years old. He suited up for Mitteldeutscher BC based in Weisenfels, Germany and competed in the Basketball Bundesliga, the top-tier league in Germany. There he played with the club’s backup team BSW Sixers and also appeared in Bundesliga matches.

A year later, he returned to Lithuania and signed a long-term contract with BC Šiauliai. In his first season, he was loaned to the Eagles of Mažeikiai (currently M-Basket Delamode), who at the time were still competing in the National Basketball League (NKL). Afterwards, he earned a spot in the main team of Šiauliai and played there for three years.

Baslyk joins Matas Jogela, Anthony Cowan, and Marek Blazevic as Wolves Twinsbet’s off-season pick-ups. Currently, Jeffery Taylor, Vaidas Kariniauskas, Kristupas Zemaitis, and Regimantas Miniotas also have contracts with the Vilnius club.
