Wolves Twinsbet have announced that the club added 6-foot guard Anthony Cowan to its roster after signing the 26-year-old playmaker to a one-year contract.
For the past two seasons, the American import suited up for Promitheas Patras of the Greek Basket League. In the recently concluded GBL championship, he averaged 14.3 points, 5.2 assists, and 3.1 rebounds per game.
Cowan shone even brighter in the FIBA Champions League (BCL), notching 17.8 points per outing and was the second most productive player of the tournament. In addition to his scoring numbers, he also logged 5.4 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game.
The year before with Promitheas, he made his European Cup (EuroCup) debut, averaging 12.3 points and 5.7 assists per game.
“We wanted to get an offensive player in our ranks who is a good finisher, can create for himself, and also involve his teammates in the game. Anthony has proven this well while playing in the Greek Championship and European tournaments, where he has recently been among the leaders in both points and assists. We have been watching this basketball player for some time, so we are glad that we finally managed to invite him to our team,” said Vilnius club’s sports director Donatas Zavackas about the second summer signing of Wolves Twinsbet.
Since graduating from the University of Maryland, Cowan spent a season with the Memphis Hustle in the NBA G League. He then moved from the US to Greece.
Before playing for Patras, he represented Aris Thessaloniki for one year and became the top scorer of the Greek League during their 2021-2022 campaign.
Cowan is Wolves Twinsbet’s second signing of the summer. Jeffery Taylor, Vaidas Kariniauskas, Kristupas Žemaitis, Regimantas Miniotas, and Matas Jogėla currently have contracts with the Lithuanian capital’s club for the upcoming season.
